Why Teen Parents?

Approximately 1 million teenagers get pregnant in the United States each year. Teen Parents pursues young parents, through community partnerships as well as in middle schools, highs schools and alternative schools in the metropolitan Indianapolis area.

What is Teen Parents?

Teen Parents is a relational ministry that seeks to change the lives of young parents and their children through authentic mentoring relationships with caring adults.

How Does Teen ParentsWork?

Through creative programming, Teen Parents emphasizes making the “next right choice” in relationships, education, parenting and pursuing Jesus to make the most of their circumstances.

• Contacting – meeting young moms and dads in their world and initiating relationship
• Building Times – spending time in activities with young parents to build relationships and model parenting and Christ-like behavior
• Appointments – Meeting one-on-one to address the specific needs of one young mom or dad
• Small Groups – Meeting intentionally and regularly with a group of 2-8 young moms or dads 
• Support Groups/Clubs – A weekly or semi-monthly meeting of 8-25 young parents with free childcare and a meal provided, plus games, crafts, guest speakers, with parenting or life skills teaching and discussions  
• Leaders in Training – Specific leadership program for indigenous young moms or dads who are no longer teenagers but have “graduated” from the program and want to give back to other teen parents.

How Can You Make a Difference?

• Donate lunch or dinner for Support Group/Club meetings.
• Join the Teen Parents Prayer Team.
• Donate to Teen Parents or the general fund for Central Indiana Youth for Christ.
• Join the Teen Parents Leadership Team.
• Become a One-on-One Mentor for a young mom or dad.
