Seeing Hope and Potential in Every Young Person

The following opportunities are available for Middle School and High School students on Indianapolis' near westside to build relationships with City Life staff and adult volunteers.

  • City Life Club – We meet at Hawthorne Community Center every Thursday at 6 p.m.during the school year and engage students with super fun recreational activities, group games, prizes and small group discussions. Additionally, we provide a warm meal during our “family time” at club.
  • City Life Breakfast Club – We connect with students at George Washington Community High School bringing a word of encouragement and some delicious pastries they can enjoy before class starts. Contact [email protected] for this schedule.
  • City Life Small Groups - Structured interactive meetings of 3-12 youth who meet for discipleship, prayer and Bible study.
  • City Life Core - Christian youth who are committed to personal growth and influencing their friend circles for Christ.
  • One on One Mentoring – We connect with students and teach the importance of spiritual and moral literacy, economic literacy, civic literacy, educational success and basic health & safety. One on one mentoring is geared toward helping students learn the following basic life skills.
    • understanding the world they live in and how to positively respond to conflict
    • knowing how to manage money well
    • discovering how to prepare for a job interview
    • learning about good physical hygiene and how to make healthy choices
  • Cook & Serve Program - We teach urban teens to cook and give back to the community through cooking.
  • Summer events – We keep students busy during the summer with cool events such as taking walks on the canal, going to the lake, camp fires, etc.
